St Silin's Church, Llansilin

St Silin's was rebuilt after the earlier church was laid waste during Owain Glyn Dwr's rebellion at the beginning of the c15th.

The church building was again caught up in military conflict when Parliamentary soldiers took refuge in the church during the c17th civil war.

The early c20th saw conflict around the church once again: the parish is unique as it voted for the disestablishment of the Church in Wales, even though parts of it are in England.
